On 9th Dec,2011, the team of the Community Enterprise Operating System [CentOS] team announced the availability of CentOS 6.1 in both architecture 32-bit[i386] and 64-bit[x86_64]. The CentOS is originally based on Fedora and available with many packages in their repositories. It is totally based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux so if you are in search of enterprise operating system then the CentOS is the best choice.
As it is based on EL 6.1 and contain packages from all variants. And all upstream repositories have been combined into one repository so it make easier to work for users. They recommend to use Candidate Release repository for more bug-fixes and security updates.
