Release Schedule of Ubuntu 12.10 "Quantal Quetzal"

A week before the release of Ubuntu 12.04 "Precise Pangolin" LTS, Mark Shuttleworth from Canonical announced the release schedule of Ubuntu 12.10 which gets the codename "Quantanl Quetzal". In this release total 2 alpha and 3 beta versions are there and first alpha version will be released on 7th Jun, 2012. Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin beta 2 has been released

Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin beta 2 has been released on 29th Mar, 2012. You can download it from Ubuntu.com. It contains many new changes from its previous alpha and beta versions.

 
The main changes in Ubuntu 12.04 beta 2 are as follows. First is the HUD[head up display] animation. Then the updated version of Unity which is 5.8. Qt based Ubuntu One desktop client. Additional application quicklists. And the brand new multi-monitor option for LCD and projectors. Updated Firefox and Libreoffice packages and many more. The last version is Ubuntu 12.04 beta 1 which was released on 1st March, 2012.

Fuduntu 2012.2 has been released

Andrew Wyatt has announced the availability of Fuduntu 2012.2 on 2nd April, 2012.No major updates are there but some minor changes have been made. It uses Linux kernel 3.2.13, Chromium 17, Mozilla Firefox 11, Thunderbird 11, Pidgin 2.10.2, LibreOffice 3.5.1. And now you can download Fuduntu from their own hosting instead of Sourceforge.


Originally Fuduntu is forked from Fedora but as on now it is independent. It is very easy to use Fuduntu and it also have a dock like MAC OS X in bottom of the screen which increase the speed of work.Its last version was released on Jan, 2012
